Collection: Intellivision

Launched by Mattel in 1979, the Intellivision (short for “Intelligent Television”) was intended to offer a more sophisticated alternative to the Atari 2600. With its disc-based controllers and more strategic games, it was aimed at a slightly more mature audience. Its graphics were superior to those of the competition at the time, and the console left its mark with titles like Utopia, Night Salker, and Shark! Shark!. Although its controller divided gamers, the Intellivision remains a fascinating milestone of the second generation of consoles.
