Retro MTL mascotte

Launched in 1985, Sega's Master System was Nintendo's first real competitor in the home console market. With graphics superior to those of the NES and an ergonomic controller, it attracted a fan base eager for new games. Its diverse game library included iconic titles like Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Phantasy Star, Wonder Boy, and Shinobi, as well as adaptations of popular arcade games. Although it sold less than its rival, the Master System remains a cult console, beloved for its technical audacity and its legacy in the video game boom of the 1980s.
