Launched in 2012, the Wii U introduced a GamePad with a touchscreen to enhance the gaming experience. Misunderstood and undersupported, it wasn't a huge commercial success. However, it did host excellent titles like Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Pikmin 3, and Zelda: Breath of the Wild (also released on Switch).
